Capstone Project — Overview
This Wellness Resort and Spa is focused on providing a safe space for visitors to explore a new type of retreat to the Nanaimo area, combining European and Asian style treatments.
The Journey to Tranquility Begins Here.
The yoga studio, treatment rooms, sauna, steam baths, natural swimming pools, plunge pools, herbal medicine shop, restaurant, detached cabins, and overall landscaping are designed to maximize relaxation for the facility’s members.
The spa experience at Kaizen Wellness Resort & Spa provides a range of treatments that contribute to both physical and mental well-being. Activities like meditation and yoga sessions collectively work to promote relaxation and alleviate accumulated stress and tension in the body.
As the importance of mental health increases, adding a wellness resort allows for a dedicated space where people can unplug and ground themselves with nature. The Kaizen Wellness Resort & Spa provides the option for overnight stays in detached cabins to utilize the various offerings provided at the spa.
Relax, Rejuvinate, Renew
Kaizen is the Japanese philosophy of constant improvement.
The calming ambiance of a salt room, accompanied by dim lighting and soothing music, is thought to promote relaxation and stress reduction. The serene environment may contribute to a sense of well-being.
Himalayan salt treatments are knows to benefit respiratory health, skin conditions, reduced stress, improves sleep and helps detoxifying the body and balancing it’s energy.
The idea behind this area is to create an environment similar to natural salt caves found in certain parts of the world, where people have historically sought relief for various health conditions.
Comfortable seating is a fundamental aspect of designing a salt room that promotes relaxation, encourages prolonged sessions, and contributes to the overall well-being of visitors.
