Banff, Alberta

Welcome to Interstellar Boutique Hotel—where the sky is not the limit, but just the beginning!

Location & Environment

Nestled high in the Canadian Rockies, The Interstellar Boutique Hotel is located in the heart of Banff National Park at the south end of 92nd Banff Avenue. This resort town is a popular tourist destination, offering a plethora of picturesque sites and winter activities, from skiing and snowshoeing to hiking and sightseeing.

While it's easy to have an action-packed day filled with adventure, the nights in Banff hold their charm. After the sun sets and dinner is complete, many seek to make the most of their time under the stars.

Banff, one of the highest towns in Canada with an elevation of 1,383 meters (4,537 feet), is home to the Banff Sightseeing Gondola, located just 5 minutes from The Interstellar on the shoulder of Sulphur Mountain. This gondola, Banff’s most popular attraction, takes you 2,281 meters (7,486 feet) above sea level, offering an ideal stargazing location due to the minimal light pollution.

With the collaboration of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Banff has introduced a night sky program that leaves visitors with a deeper appreciation of the unspoiled beauty of the night sky, untouched by urban development.

An Otherworldly Design

The hotel’s design reflects the infinite wonders of space. Inspired by the Milky Way and our solar system, the interiors feature celestial elements such as fibre optic star ceiling panels, planet-themed convex ceilings, and starry night pod beds. Dark, bold colours create a cozy yet expansive atmosphere, bringing the mystery and beauty of the cosmos indoors.

Stargazing at Its Finest!

Banff is known for its crystal-clear skies, making it one of the best places in the world for stargazing. At Interstellar Boutique Hotel, we’ve partnered with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada to offer a unique night sky program that will deepen your appreciation for the universe. Our location, away from urban light pollution, provides a perfect vantage point for observing the stars, planets, and the Milky Way.
